Hello people of the internets. Sushalini is still here but there have been some changes over the last 9 months or so since our last post. For one, Sushalini have moved to Australia to rediscover it's roots. For another Sushalini bassmaster, Jerome is staying put in London... but we are sure that we will all be reunited one day. Sushalini 2.0 will be playing some shows, recording some new songs and making new videos in the future, but we are currently laying low and keeping busy with the usual day to day goings on of life, while acclimatising to the Australian environment. In the mean time, we have finally update the video section of the website with the clip for Ahh Woohoo which we shot in a wintery blizzard last Easter in east London. You can read about the fun we had shooting it here. Until next time... |

SHAZAAM!! Now in Rough Trade....Video Shoot |
Monday, 24 March 2008 |
Hey Hey!! For those of you who live in London, you can now pick up a copy of our album at Rough Trade. They also stock it on their website, which is right here . We spent Easter Saturday just around the corner from Rough Trade East, braving snow, sleet, rain and 38km/hr winds to shoot a video for Ahh Woohoo. We were joined by the amazing Theo GB from Pocus Whiteface, who was very sporting about wearing a giant and uncomfortable robot suit while chasing an evil monkey man around a multi-storey carpark. We owe him many beers. Many beers. Rachael Sushalini is working on the video edit as we speak, and we'll have it up here in no time for all to see. You can read little bit more about the day here on the blog . Until next time.... |

Sushalini Downloads, Radio Airplay |
Wednesday, 12 March 2008 |
Hey Y'all, Sushalini has a page at the CD Baby website where you can buy our album on CD (as if you haven't already) or as a download in high quality (200kbps VBR) MP3 format without any DRM restrictions. You can also buy it direct from us here in our shop too, or listen to if for free on that little player top right. There are also many places on the interwebs where you can download it for free. We're happy for you to do that, but remember we like Pizza Express and that doesn't come cheap. Just so you know. We have been getting some airplay over at Radio Popbitch, so tune in and request us and then otter us good when you hear Sushalini being played. Also thanks to the nice DJs at CUR1350 Breakthrough in Cambridge (UK) who are playing Ahh Woohoo lots and trying to adopt our guinea pig as the show's mascot. Laters... |

Take Route 61 and Bump Sushalini |
Friday, 21 December 2007 |
The Sixty One is a new web 2.0 website / music discovery game which looks pretty cool. It's tagline is "If Guitar Hero™ is about shredding, thesixtyone is about scouting. Musicians upload music and listeners decide which songs go on the homepage" I guess it's like a pyramid scheme for music discovery, but you spend and earn 'points' rather than real currency. It's actually a fun way to waste time on the internet, and there is a great mix of music to listen to, from established artists like Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine, CSS and LCD Soundystem through to lesser known mortals like The Sushalinis. We have a few songs up there that you can listen to and download if you so desire. So go bump us baby.... bump us! |

The Plans of Man gets North American deal! |
Saturday, 08 December 2007 |
Back in 2005/6 Rachael wrote, directed and produced her first feature film, ‘The Plans of Man’. Shot on a tiny budget in London and New York, ‘Plans’ is a modern day retelling of Adam and Eve in an indie rom-com type of way. Kinda. On the soundtrack you will find Sushalini (of course!), Tucker Bs, Sodastream, Possum Moods, Steve Macri, Skull Disco and The Silents amongst others. All in all it’s a fantastic film and will be released for North American audiences in the near future. You can view the trailer and leave congratulatory comments at Rachael’s myspace page. |
